Len and I have been quite emotional the past few days. Testy with each other, tearful and so overwhelmed by the emotion of all of this. Our trip is now registered with the US Embassy so the US knows where we are :-).
We have had so many phone calls and email from friends and family all over the nation. It is so encouraging... from Pennsylvania to Colorado to Florida and back to Illinois.
So many people have been praying over us and our little one and our process....thanks are not enough. We are in mass laundry folding and packing mode. We will not be making it to church tomorrow. We will be spending the morning home with each other eating donuts! What fun!
I hope to stay in touch via this blog while we are overseas. Hopefully our email with the IPad will work at the guest house. We cannot post any pics of our little guy unless we pass court. If we do.....wow watch out!
Here is what we are planning for our trip. If you know me, you know I have to have a plan....thanks Dad for that genetic contribution. :-)
1. We will visit with Joshua twice for two hours prior to court on the 21st.
2. We will visit with him once on the 22nd after court (hopefully we pass) for two hours to say farewell until we come back to get him.
3. We are going to Enat school to deliver the books and hopefully spend a bit of time with the children and their teacher. We would love to opportunity to teach a bit.
4. We are going to an International Evangelical Church on Sunday morning. Here is the church link: http://www.iecaddis.org/ It sounds so excellent! People come together in worship from 40-50 different countries and worship together.
5. We will spend time with the pediatrician who has been taking care of him.
6. We will spend a bit of time with our lawyer....getting ready for our US Embassy appointment
7. We will enjoy the 75 degree weather too! ;-) (sorry Chicago friends)
This is my last post before we arrive in Ethiopia. Will you pray for us?
Specifically....
1. Safe travels
2. Health as we travel and health for our little guy as he grows and develops in Addis.
3. Ratification of our court case.
4. Strength for Donna and Ricki as they care for our precious little girls...oh it is soooo hard to leave them.
They are dancing around the living room to music from Glee with Len as I type this. (tears are flowing)
5. A sense of humor.. to overcome all of the ups and downs
6. Most of all the clarity and wisdom to see the Lord's will thru all of this.
Thank you for your prayers. When all of you go to sleep on Sunday night please say an extra prayer for our court date which will occur while you are sleeping.
Blessings all and until we meet again.....
Michelle
